Brave teams of fundraisers have completed their journey from Dover to Barcelona in bangers worth no more than £200.
Two flamenco dancers, three nuns and a golf duo set off on Saturday, September 12, from Dover courtesy of DFDS Seaways, which donated the ferry crossings.
Before making the journey, they were able to take in the views in Chateauroux and Andorra before heading to Barcelona.
Each team has raised thousands of pounds towards the work of Martha Trust with a total of £23,000 so far.
Julie Gayler, director of marketing at Martha Trust and a team member said: “The trip was amazing, the camaraderie was great and best of all, we’ve already raised over £23,000 in sponsorship with funds still coming in. We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part and to all those who supported the cars.
“Bonkers in Barcelona wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of all key sponsors including; Sota Solutions, Systems Technology, Unipet, Ward and Partners with Kent Community Foundation. Their support ensures as much of the individual car sponsorship as possible goes towards the work Martha Trust does transforming the lives of people with profound disabilities.”
Martha Trust, based in Hacklinge, has been running car challenges for the last eight years across Europe.
