A fortuitous winner from Jason Norville rounded off a comeback from Dover against strugglers Boreham Wood in Blue Square South on Saturday.
With the scores level, Wood keeper Ashley Jones’ clearance hit Norville in the face and went straight into the net for a 64th minute winner.
Whites thought they had taken an early lead, but Harry Baker’s (pictured) effort was adjudged to not have crossed the line despite appearing to be over.
Sam Hurrell put the home side in front when he broke through the visiting defence and tucked the ball into the corner past keeper Scott Flitney.
Baker made up for the disappointment of his earlier effort not counting when he fired home Dover’s opener from 20 yards on 37 minutes.
The impressive Hurrell then went past three Whites defenders, as he ran from the halfway line into the penalty, before striking the under Flitney to restore his side’s lead.
But Baker started the visitors’ comeback when he scored with a brilliant volley from a corner after 62 minutes, and two minutes later Norville secured the points.
