Buskers will be busy in Deal town centre on Saturday entertaining shoppers and raising cash for this summer’s Deal Maritime Folk Festival.
The Mega Busk starts at the town hall undercroft at 9.30am until 2pm and will be supported by about 12 different festival performers and groups.
Ray Fielder, festival organiser said: “Deal’s Maritime Folk Festival is not the largest event on the calendar but it is one that players, singers and dancers love to perform at because of Deal’s very special atmosphere and sense of place.
“It is run on a shoestring and relies upon the generosity of our performers, volunteers and the community.
“In the next week the Astor is very generously donating some of its proceeds from its beer festival on August 17 and 18 to the festival.
“Several festival performers will be playing at the Astor and there is full Ceilidh dance on the Friday, 17, starting at 7.30pm.”
This year’s Deal Maritime Folk Festival takes place between September 14 and 16.
