A car and a bike have collided on a main road in Deal.

The accident happened just before 2pm on Saturday.

Emergency services were at the scene of the crash, near the Victoria Hospital, which involved a Kia car and a bike.

The cyclist - a man in his 40s - was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital for further checks.

He is not believed to be seriously injured, but suffered cuts and grazes in the incident.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance service said: “There were no visible signs of serious injury but crews would have been very cautious because of the nature of what has happened."

Kent Police officers also attended around 1.50pm.
