Four teenagers, aged from 13 to 16, have been arrested in connection with the theft of cars in Dover, one of which was set alight, and the theft of badges from other cars.
Police are investigating the theft of a Ford Galaxy from Salisbury Road, Dover, the theft and arson of a Rover 100 from Laureston Place, as well as the theft of two Volkswagen badges from cars parked in Laureston Place, Dover, all on Wednesday night, January 19.
Fire crews were called to Laureston Place when the Rover was found on fire. They managed to prevent the flames from spreading to other vehicles, and the owner of one parked next to the Rover drove it out of the way.
Three boys aged 13, 14 and 15 have been charged with being carried in a motor vehicle which had been taken without the owner’s consent.
They have been released on conditional bail to answer before Folkestone Youth Court on Tuesday, February 8.
A 16-year-old boy who was also arrested has been released on conditional bail until March 3 while officers make further enquiries.
All four have bail conditions that include a curfew between the hours of 7 pm and 7am and not to contact the others arrested. The three charged also have conditions not to enter Laureston Place.
