A man has been arrested after a car ploughed into the front gardens of four homes in Mill Road in the early hours.
Nearby residents say they were awoken to a sound similar to an explosion shortly before 2am.

A vehicle had smashed into a fence on the corner of the road, causing damage to the gardens of three other properties too.
The gardens have now been cordoned off with yellow barriers.
A road sign lies flattened along with fence panels, a brick wall and an iron gate.
A window also appears to have been smashed.
Police spokesman Natalie Hardy said: “The incident occurred at around 1.50am.
“A 30-year-old man from Canterbury is currently in custody after being arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and road traffic offences.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
The ambulance service also attended the scene.
Spokesman Rich Airey said: "The driver of the crashed car complained of neck pain.
"He was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to Willliam Harvey Hospital."
