An enchanting winter lights experience has been launched at Walmer Castle and the rush for tickets is on.
The spectacular leads visitors through the Queen Mother’s Garden to the Woodland Walk and onward toward the new historic Glen.
Along the way people will spot dancing fairies flitting among the leaves, encounter trolls in their den and meet wise old talking trees - that can also change the way the lighting dramatically illuminates their branches.
After the trail, there are fairground rides and games to enjoy and family pictures to pose for in front of the strikingly lit Broadwalk.
Winter warmers like mince pies, mulled wine and toasting marshmallows are also available with some heritage inspired gifts on offer in the Christmas shop.
The event runs from Thursdays to Sundays until December 22 at 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are still available online although some slots have already sold out.
A spokesman for English Heritage said: “The enchanting trail see the grounds burst to life in remarkable, unexpected ways.
“Event goers will enjoy an unforgettable experience of light, colour and sound as the stunning gardens of Walmer Castle are transformed into a remarkable illuminated world.
“So grab the winter woollies, your family and friends and revel in the most enchanting event of the year.
“Each evening is expected to be popular, so book early to avoid missing out.”
Prices start from £12 for adults and £7.50 for children or a family ticket for £31.60.
