People over the age of 50 and their carers are invited to call in for a cuppa and a slice of cake at the Deal Centre open day on Wednesday (October 8).
Information on all the services the Park Street centre offers will be available on the day, between 10am and 2pm.
Chief executive officer Debbie Barry, said: “The day is primarily for carers, but it is for older people to come in if they want any information.
Refreshments will be available as well as a two-course meal for £5, they will be served.
HM Work and Pension benefits, the centre’s dementia suite and Deal’s dementia-friendly scheme are some of the matters where advice will be given.
The Deal Hoodeners will open the event at 10am with a performance.
The Deal Centre, formerly the Deal centre for the Retired, is the town’s hub for people over the age of 50. It is social place where meals are served daily.
For the past two years, the Norman Wisdom Suite has been offering care and advice for those with dementia.
Mrs Barry said she hopes they can answer all questions, but they are able to put people in touch with specialist organisations and services.
The open day takes place between 10am and 2pm on Wednesday. The centre is open Monday to Friday 9am until 4pm and until 3pm on weekends. Two-course meals are between noon and 1pm weekdays and Saturday and a roast dinner is on Sunday at 1pm.
