Dover Athletic powered to a 3-0 victory over Blue Square Bet South play-off rivals Chelmsford on Easter Monday.
It was the perfect response from Chris Kinnear's side after they had been held to a 1-1 draw at home by Sutton United two days earlier.
But they were helped by the Clarets missing a 14th-minute penalty when Mitch Walker saved Jamie Slabber's effort after a City player had been fouled in the area.
Dover then took a 32nd-minute lead when Clarets keeper Stuart Searle punched a Ricky Modeste corner into his own net, and two minutes later Modeste crossed for Ben May (pictured) to head his 21st goal of the season in all competitions.
Walker then frustrated Chelmsford's bid to get back into the game with a series of fine saves before Whites wrapped up an emphatic victory when Danny Webb, recalled to the squad as captain by Kinnear, fired home after Searle had fumbled a 67th-minute cross from Tyrone Sterling.
The only downside of the afternoon for Kinnear was that Dean Rance picked up a yellow card which will earn the midfielder a three-match ban under the 'totting-up' procedure.
