Fire crews have taken on a fire that spread from a chimney to a roof.
They were called to Capstan Row in Deal shortly after 2pm today.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews were on the scene within minutes of receiving the 999 call to find that the fire had spread to the roofspace.”
Two fire engines were called out and one was stood down after a couple of hours as crew members made progress in bringing the blaze under control.
The tackled the blaze wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets.
A local authority structural engineer was called out to check the safety of the chimney after the blaze.
