POLICE were called to Walmer Castle Road in Deal on Friday after a large wall collapsed.
People living close by came out of their homes to investigate when they heard the noise.
The wall was at the junction with St Mary’s Road, where Andrew Gronkowski lives.
“I heard this almighty bag and when I looked out of my front door I saw the wall had collapsed into the road, “ he said.
“It was lucky that nobody was walking past at the time, “ he added.
A spokesman for the district council said: “We can confirm that a section of wall bordering the public highway collapsed on Walmer Castle Road.
“Kent Police, highways and the district council temporarily closed the road, removed the debris and ensured the area was safe.
“A temporary support structure was put in place to stabilise the wall and we are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure public safety.”
