Residents in a village are being asked if they would like their public toilets to remain open after concerns over 'cottaging'.
Cottaging is to perform homosexual acts in a public toilet.
Both police and Dover District Council (DDC) say they are not aware of any recent reports however Cllr Richard Siddans told members he had received information that such anti-social behaviour was taking place at the amenities in Undercliffe Road.
Currently Ringwould with Kingdown Parish Council pays almost £6,000 a year to DDC towards the general maintenance of the WCs.
In light of the concerns documented in the draft minutes of the council's April meeting, councillors agreed to ask residents whether they wanted to keep paying for them.
In the May edition of the Rural Roundup community magazine circulated in Walmer, Kingsdown and Ringwould, residents are invited to email parish clerk Katie Amaouche with their views.
Ms Amaouche said: "We are consulting with residents of the parish to ask if they would like the council to continue paying DDC for the opening, closing and general maintenance of the Kingsdown toilets for 2020/21 between April and September.
"The contribution the Parish Council agreed to pay for the opening/closing, general maintenance, rates, utilities for 2019/20 was £5827.33 which has been taken from the annual precept.
"The feedback from this consultation will be discussed by the council at a future meeting.
"If you are a resident of Ringwould and Kingsdown and wish to respond please email your response to the clerk at parishclerkrwk@gmail.com"
Cllr Siddans has been contacted for further comment.
