Bold new Channel 4 programme about ‘living without’ looking for households in the Dover area

A TV production company is on the lookout for adults in Deal and Dover to star in a new Channel 4 programme about living without luxuries.

Princess Productions is looking for households of two or more people, over 18, who are friends, flat-sharers, relatives or couples living together, to take part in the bold experiment.

Over 30 days contributors will – quite literally – be stripped bare, giving up all their worldly goods and working out what they really need to live their lives.

A spokesman said: “The average British household owns £3,500 worth of unused clutter and the average user picks up their phone 1,500 times.

“A typical British woman will own 1,116 tops, 620 dresses, 558 trousers and jeans in a lifetime, as well as 22 things she never wears at all.

“What happens if we take it all away?”

The programme will be a fascinating journey for anyone taking part, finding out whether they will feel free of materialistic desires or if the pull of possessions will still be there.

A spokesman added: “We’re looking for households in the Dover area to take part in this exciting and potentially life changing experience, and are keen to speak to interested households as soon as possible.”
