Champagne corks will be popping on Deal seafront on New Year’s Eve when crowds are expected to join in the Timeball’s annual celebrations.
Tower trustee Marlene Burnham said: “We would like to see people gathering opposite the town’s seafront landmark at 11.45pm.
“If they want a good place to watch the ball drop at the midnight hour, then get there early!
“We have had hundreds of people watching, some turning up with their picnic tables and others armed with champagne and glasses.
“They love it and there is usually such a crowd that they have to spill out onto the pebbles.”
The Timeball Tower will be closed for the midnight drop, but open for visitors on New Year’s Day between noon and 2pm.
Mince pies and mulled wine will be served and there will be a chance to wander around the tower.
To coincide with the drop, the King's Head, Beach Street, has organised a firework display on the beach opposite the pub.
