Judith Cullen and Jean Johnson, who won the women's county pairs title

Victoria Park pair duo Judith Cullen and Jean Johnson have won the Kent County Ladies’ Pairs title.

In a close and tense final at Halls BC on Sunday, which featured some excellent bowling from both sides, they beat Sheila Pamplin and Par Carr from Chatham 19-11.

However, the Deal duo were unsuccessful in their bid for a ‘double’ success.

In the county Fours final, accompanied by Dot Hayes and Janet Bruce, they lost to a team from Milton Regis
25-15.

But all four Victoria Park bowlers will be going to the national championships at Leamington Spa as county winners and runners-up.

Before the start of finals day Bruce was presented with her county badge.
