Young members of Dover Dance Academy will be giving a cheerleading display at Dover Community Regatta next week.
The school was opened earlier this year by Teighlor McGeehan and Sarah McLoughlin, and the youngsters will also be performing their upbeat jazz routine at the regatta on Saturday, July 27.
Teighlor said; “Many of our performers are involved with the Pegasus programme so we are extremely proud to perform at an event that celebrates their dedicated work at the charity.”
They will be appearing around 11.15am on the seafront.
Meanwhile, the line-up for the first Dover Port Dash has been confirmed with 16 organisations supporting the Pegasus Playscheme in the rowing challenge sponsored by the Port of Dover.
Competing for prizes from P&O Ferries and Dover’s Vision Express are My Ferry Link, P&O Ferries, the Port of Dover’s Port Control and Infrastructure Development Teams, Civil Service Sports Council, MF Kent Martial Arts, KCA, Dover Rugby Club, Military Fitness Academy, Porchlight, Dover District Council and Hourglass Fitness Club.
There will also be prizes for the best fancy dress – and a wooden spoon.
The Thames Cutter boats are being loaned from Deptford-based charity AHOY! which run regular charity Channel challenges.
Dover Rowing Club will provide the coxes and Dover Sea Sports Centre will be getting everyone out on the water.
The boats will be out from 9am with the final prize giving at 3pm.
Port chief executive Tim Waggott said; “We’ve had a fantastic response to the Dover Port Dash and we’re delighted to be able to sponsor the use of the Thames Cutters.
“The community has really come together in aid of the Pegasus Playscheme charity and judging by the entries it looks a hotly-contested race.”
The regatta takes place from 10am to 5pm.
