Deal Town's new season is up and running after their opening day Safety Net Kent League victory over Lordswood last weekend.
Now manager Derek Hares wants to build on that "feel-good factor" with an FA Cup success this Saturday, when Deal take on Sandhurst Town at home in the extra preliminary round at the Charles Ground.
He will be hoping Deal can produce a repeat of the result they achieved when the sides met in the FA Cup nine years ago, with Deal winning 3-2 at the Berkshire club’s Bottom Meadow ground.
Sandhurst, nicknamed The Fizzers and celebrating their centenary this year, play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division and opened their season with a 3-1 success over Epsom & Ewell on Saturday.
Hares said: "We know it’s going to be a hard game because there are some good sides in that league.
"But it’s a tie I would love to win because, if Hythe win their tie against Bookham, we play each other at our place in the next round and that would be a cracker."
After being left short on numbers by holiday absentees last weekend, Hares has the opposite problem this Saturday of deciding who to leave out with Grant Bagley, Sean Armstrong, Jack Tanner and Mark Munday all available again.
Jason Brazier is also likely to have recovered from an ankle injury but Danny Smith is still sidelined by his hamstring strain and Roy Godden completes a two-match suspension carried over from last season.
