Ten-man Deal 1sts won an unlikely point in a 1-1 draw at Sevenoaks 4ths in Kent Open Premier A.

The visitors couldn’t field a full line-up due to illness and work commitments but dug deep and took the lead when Phillips received the ball into the area and beat the keeper.

Sevenoaks’ numerical advantage began to tell after the break and they eventually levelled.

On Saturday Deal host Old Bordenians at 11am.

A 4-2 win over Sevenoaks 6ths was enough to keep Deal 2nds top of Kent Open Division 4.

James Foot opened the scoring with a reverse stick lob and added another when he finished a fine move with a tap-in.

The second half began with Deal again stringing together a series of passes down the right and finishing from close range and although Sevenoaks pulled a goal back, Andy Grigg despatched a penalty stroke to make it 4-1. Sevenoaks added their second goal just before full-time.
