The Balcony studio at the Astor Theatre is the perfect place for your nuptials
By By Beth Robson
Many Dealites will have memories of attending wedding receptions at the Astor Theatre in bygone years and now the Edwardian theatre is show-casing all it offers at its first wedding fayre on Sunday, October 7.
And with its recently gained civil ceremony licence, you can tie the knot there too in a building steeped in history, just a few steps from the beach.
Liz Mott, who is organising the fayre, said the Astor’s event will be a "wedding fayre with a difference" which includes a fashion show, choreographed by Stuart Hopps who usually works with stars of the stage and screen.
She added: "Our models are local girls and boys who will be given a make-over on the day by some of our exhibitors.
"Then there is music from, amongst others,The Barratts Band, Way Down Yonder (Barber Shop quartet) as well as other intriguing acts."
The Astor is a fabulous venue to hold other celebration parties such as birthdays, anniversaries and vow renewals.
Mrs Mott added: "We now have a Licence to perform weddings and civil ceremonies in the Balcony Suite for up to 70 guests and the main auditorium for up to 120 guests."
The fayre will showcase all the theatre can offer and promote local suppliers and service providers like photographers, cake makers, dress outfitters, honeymoon providers and entertainers.
The Wedding Fayre takes place on Sunday, October 7 from 10 am to 4pm.
Entry is free.
