A free party for the planet to be staged at Astor Community Theatre, Deal, on Sunday will feature the town hosting one of the world-wide Zero Carbon Concerts.
Green group Deal With It has joined forces with Smugglers records, Chocolution and the Astor to present a day of events to mark the start of the UN's Climate Change Conference in Mexico.
One of the organisers of Deal's Big Green Experiment, Will Greenham, said: "It is going to be a great day. We have a really interesting and eclectic collection of organisations having stalls in the afternoon.
"There will be ˜speed-dating" type 10-minute talks on a great variety of environmental related subjects and we are fortunate to have many local groups playing such as the Deal Hoodeners, Old Lone Gin Band, Bottles, Way-out, Ravenhill, Spyplane and Driftwood."
In the evening there will be a chance to see In Transition film starting at 6.30pm followed by a full Smugglers Session, powered by a bicycle generated PA, featuring the Cocos Lovers, Tom McInerney, Will Varley, the son of Kirk and the Ladies of the Lake.
The afternoon session is between 2-5pm with stalls, talks and music. Doors open at 6.30pm for the bicycle powered concert.
