A man was injured in a two-car crash on The Strand in Walmer at 7.30pm last night. (Friday)
Two fire engines were at the scene, close to Walmer Lifeboat Station and police officers were also there.
Firefighters removed the roof of one of the vehicles using hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate the casualty.
Paul Copley, crew manager, said: "One male was suffering neck and back pain."
The vehicle was stabilised and crews worked to create space so the casualty could be treated, then removed from the car before being transported to hospital.
The crews were on the scene for 40 minutes before handing the casualty to SECAmb.
Motorists were advised to avoid The Strand in Walmer and drivers of oncoming traffic were turning around to avoid the smash.
