Documents found among fly-tipped waste have helped Dover District Council prosecute a pair from Great Mongeham.
Jordan Chatwin, 24, and Danielle Johnson, 24, of Mongeham Road, have been handed bills for £735 and £482 after an incident of fly-tipping in Deal, in April 2014.
They duo pleaded guilty to the act at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Mr Chatwin was fined £600, with a £60 victim surcharge, and ordered to pay costs of £75, while Miss Johnson was fined £370, with a £37 victim surcharge, and ordered to pay £75 costs.
Mr Chatwin was witnessed by members of the public emptying the contents of a van in Marsh Lane, Deal on April 4, 2014.
Miss Johnson remained in the vehicle and did not stop Mr Chatwin disposing of the waste.
Documents found amongst the waste identified Miss Johnson.
DDC cabinet member for property management and public protection, Cllr Trevor Bartlett, said: “Residents consistently tell us they want more rigorous enforcement, and we will not hesitate to take action wherever appropriate.”
