A festival for dogs has been postponed over welfare fears as temperatures are set to reach the high 20s.
PawFest was meant to go ahead at Betteshanger Park in Deal this weekend, but the unseasonably warm weather has stopped the event.
In a social media post, PawFest said: “Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekend’s PawFest event at Betteshanger Park.
“The welfare of our customers and more importantly their dogs is our top priority, and the current temperatures are forecast to be above 27 degrees.”
All those who have purchased tickets will still be able to use them at the rescheduled event on October 7 and 8.
The organisers added: “All ticket holders will be given the opportunity to transfer their tickets or given a full refund if they are no longer able to attend”.
An annual event, PawFest includes a canine shopping village with trade stalls from local businesses, a kids zone and doggy competitions.
