Dover's Jamie Smith moves forward against Boreham Wood at Crabble on Saturday Picture: Tony Flashman
Dover's miserable run of form at home this season continued as they lost for the fourth time in seven league games at Crabble.
Whites started well enough in Saturday's Blue Square Bet South game and midfielder Daryl McMahon, their best player, twice went close early on.
But Boreham Wood snatched the lead against the run of play on 33 minutes through Ben Jefford after a corner was only half cleared.
That was enough to produce a more confident second-half performance from Boreham Wood and Whites keeper Mitch Walker twice denied Graham Montgomery.
Dover tried desperately to find an equaliser in the closing stages but Nicky Forster's side were unable to avoid yet another home setback.
