Unbeaten Dover failed to score for the first time this season as Eastbourne Borough left Crabble with a well-deserved point.
Both sides had chances to win the game and ex-Dover forward James Walker missed several good opportunities to put his former employers to the sword.
The first chance for the Whites fell to lone striker Calum Willock, who headed wide from 12 yards. From that point, Eastbourne started to control the game and Dover keeper Mitch Walker saved from Dan Carr after Josh Scowen’s shot had been blocked.
James Walker sent an effort just over the crossbar and Mitch Walker again denied Carr as the visitors ended the half on top.
Eastbourne carved out more chances after the interval but the tide turned when Dover boss Nicky Forster, pictured, brought himself off the bench, along with Ben May, midway through the second half. Barry Cogan could have put the home side in front but he was denied by Anwar Uddin.
It took a terrific saving tackle by Tom Wynter to deny James Walker the winning goal late on, as Dover drew for the third time in four games.
Their solitary win came at AFC Hornchurch on Saturday, where Cogan scored the only goal of the game four minutes from time. With six points on the board in Blue Square Bet South, Dover sit alongside Kent rivals Welling United, just outside the play-off positions.
