Substitute Donovan Simmonds salvaged a point for a beleaguered Dover as they could only draw 1-1 at home to Havant & Waterlooville.
Martin Hayes’ side fell behind before the break at Crabble when Wes Fogden put the Hampshire side ahead on 38 minutes. He showed strength to hold off the challenge from Steve Watt before slotting the ball past Dover keeper Mikhael Ruiz from a tight angle.
Billy Bricknell looked Dover’s best source of a goal in the first half as he was twice denied by Havant keeper Lyall Beazely.
Fresh from his return from injury, Simmonds (pictured) came off the bench to level the scores with 15 minutes to go. He calmly slotted home after a clever back heel from Bricknell found his fellow front man unmarked in the area.
A wasteful Havant spurned opportunities to find the killer ball in the closing stages, former Bournemouth man Sammy Igoe posing the biggest threat. But he was unable to find the players to finish off his creative passing and points were eventually shared.
The draw leaves Dover in 12th in the table, still with only one home win to show for this season.
