Adam Birchall’s first half penalty was enough for Dover to secure victory at home to Thurrock on Monday and maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Whites dominated the Blue Square Bet South match but were unable to convert possession into goals at Crabble.
Brichall scored from the spot after 22 minutes following a foul in the box on Harry Baker and that earned the side their first home win of the campaign.
The start of the second half saw Thurrock create a couple of chances, one which Ross Flitney did well to save, but Dover got back on top but couldn’t find the crucial second goal.
