Two second half goals were enough for Dover to claim all three points against Maidenhead on Saturday.
It was Dover’s first league win at Crabble this season and second in a row following last week’s FA Cup win over Tonbridge.
After a poor first half Whites responded with a far better second 45 minutes and won the game thanks to goals from Ben May and substitute Billy Bricknell (pictured).
And it was a welcome clean sheet for Dover against a Maidenhead side without in-form striker Reece Tison-Lascaris. The visitors did have one good chance but luck was with Dover as the effort hit the woodwork.
It was a second straight win for Dover in Blue Square Bet South and it moved Nicky Forster’s team up to sixth in the table, leapfrogging Maidenhead to sit just outside the play-off places on goal difference.
May opened the scoring for Dover in the second half, after controlling the ball well and hitting the shot low past the visiting keeper.
The goalscorer then turned provider to add a vital second for Dover as he laid the ball off to Bricknell and after beating a defender he placed the ball into the far corner.
