Dover Athletic moved into second place in the Blue Square Bet South table after beating Weston-super-Mare 3-1 at Crabble on Saturday.
Nicky Forster’s side followed up their 4-1 midweek victory over Billericay -which ended a run of disappointing results at Crabble - with another convincing home performance.
Whites went in front after just six minutes through a penalty from Ben May after Ricky Modeste was fouled by Weston keeper Lloyd Irish.
Although Dover remained on top, they had to wait until 11 minutes from time before Billy Bricknell made it 2-0 following a mistake by Weston full-back Jamie Price, and two minutes later, man-of-the-match Modeste scored the third goal with an intended cross which floated into the far corner.
Weston pulled a goal back six minutes from time through substitute Nabi Diallo but Dover’s place in the top two was already secure.
