Manager Martin Hayes says finding one or two pacy wingers is top of his list of priorities as Dover Athletic continue their pre-season programme.

The Whites have lacked a genuine winger since Jerahl Hughes left midway through last season and Hayes, pictured, admitted: "We are missing a bit of pace down the flanks, which is something I like to have in my sides.

"It’s not easy finding wingers but I’m chasing a couple of people at the moment. They are both having talks with clubs at a higher level but I’m hoping that at least one of them will play (at Carshalton) on Saturday."

One of Whites’ trialists in last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Dulwich Hamlet, former Bromley midfielder Luke l’Anson, impressed on the right flank but Hayes sees him better suited to a central role.

Apart from l’Anson, Hayes hinted he is ready to offer deals to two more of the new faces who were on show at Champion Hill, midfielder Anthony Jack and striker Elliott Charles.

However, he seems unlikely to pursue his interest in former Grays man Danny Bunce, who started at left-back on Saturday.
