New Dover boss Nicky Forster has revealed he hopes his philosophy of attacking football will help Whites achieve success in Blue Square Bet South this season.
Forster (pictured) made an immediate switch to a 4-4-2 formation for Saturday’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Carshalton at Crabble, and revealed he wants to install a high-tempo attacking system at the club which he hopes will entertain the fans, as well as produce results.
He said: "There are things we need to improve on and fitness is one of them. We want to play in a certain way, with a high tempo, and for that you need to be as fit as possible.
"We are starting to put our ideas across to them. It will take them a while to learn what we want but it will come.
"I was a goalscorer and I want to see progressive football, taking the game to the opposition, getting the ball wide and getting crosses in the box, creating chances."
Forster’s first league game in charge is against promotion rivals Welling on Saturday.
He said: "This is an opportunity for us to find out exactly where we are, in terms of this division. To see how far we have to go, or if we’re still in there – we’ll find out one way or another."
