Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter said the late postponement of last Saturday’s league game at Truro City could cost the club £5,000.
The match was called off on Thursday night after the Cornish club failed to meet a deadline set by Conference officials to come up with a credible rescue package.
But Mr Parmenter (pictured) claimed the postponement came too late as far as Whites were concerned, saying: "We are potentially out of pocket to the tune of £5,000 over hotel and coach bookings. We are going to try to negate that figure as much as we can by talking to our providers but they have businesses to run as well."
The Whites chairman said he felt the Conference had nothandled the situation well.
"The game could have been called off on the Monday, or the fixture could have been switched to our place," he said.
"There were a lot of things that could have been done but the Conference just seemed intransigent about the situation. It was unprofessional."
