Former Gillingham favourite Nicky Forster is expected to be named the new manager of Dover.
Forster (pictured) started his professional career at Priestfield in 1992 but is well known for successful spells as a striker at Brentford, Reading and Brighton.
The 38-year-old finished his playing days at Brentford last season, becoming manager after the departure of Andy Scott in February.
After failing to land a managerial post in the close season, Forster signed for Sussex County League Lingfield but has made no secret of his desire to get back into the game at a higher level.
Dover sacked manager Martin Hayes on Monday after just 15 months in the Crabble hotseat. Whites are currently 12th in Blue Square Bet South with 15 points from 11 games.
