Another weather-hit weekend has left Dover Athletic facing a fixture rescheduling headache in the remaining weeks of their Blue Square Bet South season.
The postponement of Saturday’s game at Staines Town because of a frozen pitch means Chris Kinnear’s side still have eight matches to play before the last Saturday in April.
Finding a new date for the Staines Town game could prove especially difficult as the Swans already have matches arranged against other sides on the two ‘free’ Tuesdays – April 16 and 23 – that Dover have left between now and the end of the campaign.
The game could end up being played on a Thursday but Whites manager Chris Kinnear (pictured) said: "Everybody else is in the same boat, aren’t they? It’s just one of those things and we’ve just got to get on with it."
The situation will become even worse if the weather doesn’t relent for the Easter weekend, with Whites due to play Sutton United at home on Saturday followed by a trip to play-off rivals Chelmsford on Easter Monday.
With Dover and Salisbury City both inactive last Saturday, Welling United grabbed their chance to move closer to the title with a 3-0 victory at Truro City and Kinnear conceded: "To be fair, it’s now going to be a case of Welling losing it rather than someone else winning it.
"They are a decent side and I would think they feel they have won it now but we’ve just got to keep winning games and the lads can’t do much better than what they are doing at the moment."
