Dover Athletic boss Nicky Forster has captured the signing of experienced centre-back Daniel Webb.

The former Southend, Hull and Cambridge United man, 28, arrives at Crabble on a one-year deal from Salisbury City.

Webb - son of former Chelsea, Southend and Brentford boss David Webb - started out at Southampton and went on to make more than 100 Football League appearances between 2000 and 2007.

Webb was converted from a target-man striker to a commanding centre-half after scoring nine goals in 33 appearances during AFC Wimbledon’s march to the Ryman League Premier Division title.

He joined Salisbury for the first of his three spells in 2008 and also spent time at Bath City in Blue Square Bet Premier.

Webb is the eighth defender on Whites’ books for next season leaving Forster (pictured) looking for midfield and attacking reinforcements only.
