The date of Dover Carnival has been changed from the beginning of July to the end of August.
The procession was due to have taken place on July 3, but Dover Carnival Association Limited chairman Mandie Sehmbi said it was now planned for Saturday August 28.
“I have spoken at length to the police and due to a number of factors it has been decided to change the date,” she said.
Other factors included the World Cup quarter finals on July 2 and 3. road works in the Market Square and changes to the guidelines for manning carnivals.
“Rather than attempt a bosh job, I felt it best to move the date so that there will be as little hinderance as possible.”
