Dover chairman Jim Parmenter remains confident his team can make the play-offs and is backing manager Martin Hayes to get them there.
Three successive defeats in Blue Square Bet South, and just two wins from their last eight, have seen Whites drift in the play-off race.
Fans reacted angrily to last weekend’s 1-0 home defeat by Weston-super-Mare and it prompted Mr Parmenter, pictured, to go public with his dissatisfaction about "unacceptable" form on the club’s website.
He said: "We have to take a reality check and understand that we’re not going to get where we want to be unless we all pull together. There will be times when results don’t go for us but the last thing we want to have is doom and gloom.
"We’ve got a hugely talented squad of players and a decent manager. We’ve beaten two League clubs on the way to the third round of the FA Cup and no manager has ever achieved that before in our history.
"We’re eighth in the league table, just a few points off where we want to be, and that is by no means a disgrace. We’re going to try and make sure we make the play-offs."
