Dover chairman Jim Parmenter welcomes a possible meeting with Kent neighbours Gillingham in the FA Cup

Dover chairman Jim Parmenter insists there is no bad blood between themselves and possible FA Cup opponents Gillingham.

Whites could be set for a showdown in the first round next month against former boss Andy Hessenthaler’s Gills side if they can overcome Farnborough in their replay on Tuesday.

There was a war of words between the two clubs in the summer after Hessenthaler quit the Conference South club to move back to Priestfield.

Dover’s replacement for Hessenthaler was Ian Hendon (pictured with Parmenter below) but three weeks after being paraded infront of the press at Crabble he was joining the coaching staff at Gillingham as assistant manager.

Nicky Southall and Darren Hare soon joined the exodus.

Dover have since employed former Arsenal star Martin Hayes and sit fifth in the Conference South table.

"There are no ill feelings between our clubs as far as I am concerned," said Parmenter, on the club’s official website.

"What happened, happened. Things have not turned out too bad since - and I personally have no problems with Andy and Ian or Gillingham.
"It’s all water under the bridge and we just hope to set up a match which will be massive for Kent football."

Dover drew 1-1 with Farnborough on Saturday and the two sides now meet at Crabble on Tuesday night with the winners heading to Priestfield on Saturday, November 6.
