Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler is hoping to smash the club’s record for the most points in a season when his side travel to Tonbridge Angels on the last day of the season on Saturday.

The Whites reached the 100-point mark with a 3-1 win over Wealdstone last Saturday.

If they beat Tonbridge at the Longmead Stadium, Dover will finish with 104 points, breaking the club’s previous record of 102. That record was set during the 1989-1990 season when Dover won the Beazer Homes Southern League.

Hessenthaler said: "This season has been fantastic. We have won the league and got to the 100-point mark. If we can break the club record it would make it three fantastic achievements by the lads."

If Dover are going to break the record, they must take all three points against a side who are assured of a play-off place.

"It is not going to be easy to break the record," added Hessenthaler. "Their manager Tommy Warrilow has made some astute signings over the past couple of months.

"They have got the first leg of the play-off semi-final on Tuesday and he might be tempted to rest a few players.

"We have got to go there and make sure we put in a strong last 90 minutes."

Sammy Moore misses Saturday's game with a knee injury while Dean Hill (groin) is also doubtful.
