Dryden leaves Whites

Dover Athletic Jimmy Dryden has turned down the offer of a new contract from Dover Athletic.

The striker is leaving Whites after two-and-a-half years, with his likely destination Folkestone Invicta, the club from whom he joined Whites.

Dryden, who scored the goal against Burgess Hill last month which clinched the Ryman 1 South title for Dover, was again the club's leading scorer in the league this season.

Whites boss Andy Hessenthaler said on the club's official website: “Jimmy phoned me and said he’s not going to be staying with us.

“He feels he won’t get regular first team football – but I feel he did get that this season. He was our top goalscorer.

“However, he leaves us on amicable terms and there’s certainly no animosity between us.

“Jimmy’s made his decision and I wish him all the best for the future."
