Firefighters were called to an electric mobility scooter on fire in Liverpool Road, Deal, last night.
The crew arrived at 6.05pm, within four minutes of receiving the 999 call, to find a kitchen full of smoke.
They went into the property wearing breathing apparatus and extinguished the blaze using a hose reel.
They cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan, leaving at around 7pm.
A spokesman said: “We have sent back one of our investigating officers to follow it up, this morning.”
The fire is suspected to have started due to a faulty charge.
It is not being treated as suspicious.
