Schools and students from around the Dover-Deal-Sandwich district are celebrating excellent A-level results.
At Sir Roger Manwood’s School in Sandwich, the overall pass rate was 98.8% and 69% of all the exams taken were passed at the top grades of A*, A and B.
Hard work paid off for many students at St Edmund’s Catholic School in Dover. This year 41% of students achieved A* to E in three or more A-Levels and the average Level 3 QCA points score per pupil for this year was 693.
Students Deal’s Castle Community College were celebrating record A level results, with college executive Principal Philip Bunn was delighted with his school’s performance, and a 6% improvement in the A level pass rate was celebrated at Walmer Science College - the schools last set of A-level results before the takeover by Castle.
At Dover Grammar School for Girls, the overall pass rate was described as “exceptional” - three times the Kent average, with A-B grades almost 50%.
At Sandwich Technology College, 96% of students successfully completed two A levels or the equivalent.
More fine results were reported at Dover Christ Church Academy, where principal Sam Williamson said students have started reaping the rewards of the academy’s “relentless focus on improving standards”, and at Astor College for the Arts ,principal Ed Pallant was pleased with the “significant improvement” in this year’s results.
