Firefighters extinguished a blaze in the outbuilding of a Deal pub yesterday (Sunday).
Two appliances attended The Foresters Inn on The Marina at 2.15pm.
Watch manager Evans said: “When we got there there was smoke coming from the roof eaves. We went in using breathing apparatus and thermal imaging cameras.”
The fire caused only minor damage to the outbuilding and did not affect the pub itself.
He added: “It was close to catching alight to the rest of the place.
"We’re assuming it was starting accidently via smoking materials.”
The owners were aware.
