A naked calendar modelled by men and women who battle with their mental health will be revealed at a launch party tonight (Thursday).

People are invited to catch the first glimpse at The Farrier pub in Manor Road, Deal, from 7pm.

Its aim is to try to break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Tracy Carr, whose idea it was to create the calendar, said: “It’s having such an impact already. The orders are going off the scale.

“We wanted it to mean something, so with each month there is a quote written by the models that describes how they feel or their journey with mental health.”

Mrs Carr was inspired after seeing a clip of another group doing a similar thing on ITV’s breakfast show Good Morning Britain.

Within a week of sharing her idea on social media, she recruited 16 models, as well as volunteer photographer Kelvin Williams and beauticians from UBeauty to do hair and make-up.

It has been shot at Cherry Tree Farm in Ham and Rorke’s Drift Farm near Worth over the past two months.

Garden scenes and farmland make up most of the backdrops with the exception of December, which features Deal postman John Ormond delivering Christmas cards to homes in the nude.

The photo even pictures a Royal Mail cart, which the company has given approval for use as it is set to include mental health in its newsletter.

Mrs Carr said: “It was such good fun and a great experience shooting it.

“Some of these people have been in a terrible place with anxiety and depression, but all we did was laugh.

“For three of the models, this is the first time they have come out and spoken about their depression.”

The calendar is A4 in size and costs £7.99. Profits will go towards a new wellbeing cafe at The Landmark Centre with computers and a therapy room.

Mrs Carr said: “This is what people have done because they so desperately want a wellbeing cafe.”

A batch of 130 has been printed, but another order has been placed.

Mrs Carr has thanked all of the sponsors and helpers, but has given a special mention to photographer Mr Williams.

She said: “He has spent hours and hours doing it all, and we’re so pleased with it.”
