Former carnival queens and princesses will party the night away at a Kent-wide reunion.
John Trickey, chief executive of Deal Community Carnival, has organised the event so old friends can meet up and reminisce about the time they spent representing their towns across the county.
It will be held at the Ocean Rooms in Queen Street, Deal, tonight (Saturday).
He said: “This is a fun night to share stories with old friends and have a party.
“I’ve already had a lot of interest, with some girls coming all the way from Sittingbourne. They were in a court in 1987. They’ve still got their original sashes and think they could even get into their dresses.”
The party from 7.30pm until 11.30pm is open to past and present court members from other towns, not just Deal.
Entry is free although a sash must be worn upon entry.
Mr Trickey, who has been running the Deal court for more than 20 years with his wife Rosie, said: “Sadly, I understand some girls from other towns weren’t allowed to keep their sashes so a photo of them wearing it will do.
“We’re also offering people a plus one, for their husband, partner or a friend.”
There will be a number of competitions on the night included the oldest sash prize and the most sashes awarded to one girl.
There will also be video screenings of past carnivals, a DJ playing the court members’ favourite tunes plus hot food and a raffle.
