A chance to explore Walmer Castle and its gardens is on offer this month, thanks to the 2-for-1 KM Group reader offer in What's On.
English Heritage has joined forces with the Mercury to allow our readers to enjoy a day at the Tudor fort and step back through 2,000 years of history.
The special voucher is inside the weekly supplement for another three weeks and Walmer Castle is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am until 4pm.
Walmer Castle is the official residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports who is now Admiral The Lord Boyce, who succeeded the Queen Mother.
The fort was an important military command, supervising the five south-eastern ports which provided ships for medieval England's defence.
For 23 years the Duke of Wellington was Lord Warden and he died at the castle in 1852, where his famous Wellington boots are still on display.
