Young business entrepreneurs from Dover Grammar School for Girls have impresssed the judges in the Young Enterprise competition and won their way through to the Kent final next month.
Their company, FUNdamentools, will represent Dover district in the finals at the University of Greenwich in Medway on May 4.
The Port of Dover’s Harbour Master, Kevin Richardson presented the trophy, certificate and a cheque for £250 to the team for their innovative and unique reading and audio book which is aimed at children with learning difficulties and designed to improve literacy skills.
Other teams taking part were from St Edmund's Catholic School, Dover College and Sir Roger Manwood's School, Sandwich.
“As the major sponsor of Young Enterprise in Dover district over the last few years we have watched some fantastic ideas come to life and all the teams have really shown a passion for their project,” said Mr Richardson.
FUNdamentools team members are managing director Holly Castle, Faith Keller, Steph Haire, Florence Colgate, Catherine Heydon, Nancy Leach, Daniel Hogben, Shannon Moon, Brooke Dixon and Shruti Patel.
