Horses evacuated in stable 'arson'

POLICE believe two fires at a Kent stables that caused 17 horses to be evacuated were started deliberately.

The first blaze at Kennell's Farm, Golf Road, Deal broke out at around 10pm on Friday night in an outbuilding used as a store room.

The second fire began at around 10pm on Sunday at a barn close to the stables block, which led to the evacuation of the animals.

One of the horses received burns but has been treated by a vet and is expected to make a good recovery.

A 27-year-old Thanet man was arrested and is being questioned in connection with the incidents.
