Police are searching for a driver after a cyclist was injured in a crash.
Officers attended the scene of the accident in Walmer after the victim, a woman, was airlifted to hospital.
The air ambulance was seen landing in a field close to Gram’s Road at about 3.30pm on Friday, April 21.
Previous reports stated that it was not thought that any other vehicle was involved in the incident, which was described as “a woman having fallen from an electric cargo bike”.
But investigating officers have now said they are looking to speak to the driver of a red Volvo which was reported to be in the area at the time.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a suspected collision involving a woman riding an electric cargo bike in Gram’s Road at about 3.30pm on Friday, April 21.
“Officers attended, and the woman was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
“Inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances of the incident, and an appeal has been made for anyone with information to come forward.
“In particular, officers would like to trace the driver of a red Volvo car which was reported to be in the area at the time.”
Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage which might assist enquiries, should call police on 01843 222289, quoting 21-0873.
