The go ahead has been given in principle for 20 beach huts to be built and then rented to residents on Walmer seafront.

The huts, which will be sited off Walmer Green, are expected to be positioned in a “haphazard” manner in two fenced pebbled compounds adjacent to Downs Sailing Club.

The district council application was discussed at a planning meeting on Thursday (March 13) where the committee voted to delegate the final decision to officers.
